Master Association January meeting action items
The Master Association December action items were ratified during the January meeting. The following are the results of those action items:
• The following items were approved by the board:
- transfer of $25,000 to the Long Range Fund to be used for new capita improvement
- renewal of IPM’s contract
- increase of replacement cost to rebuild the Lake House to $750,000 in our insurance policy with Morrow Insurance
- additional $600 cost of insurance to be taken from the Contingency Fund which is built into the budget
• After the meeting was adjourned, the new officers were elected from the new Directors for 2006. The new officers are:
President – David Neumann
Vice President – Rick Taylor
Secretary – Richard Carney
Treasurer – Jack Lockett
• Valentine Dinner - A Valentine dinner will be held at the Lake House on Tuesday, February 14th, at 6:30 PM (social hour) and 7:30 PM seated dinner by Womble’s catering. RSVP to Paula Elliott, 15 Camp Sapphire Road, Brevard, NC 28712, by February 7th, with your check for $22.00/person (includes 7 percent tax & 18 percent gratuity). Entree choices are Chicken Piccata sauteed in lemon wine sauce w/fresh herbs or Trout Almandine. Dessert choices are Chocolate Torte or Four Layer Lemon Dessert. Dinners include a salad of mixed greens w/oranges, walnuts, & balsamic vinaigrette, snow peas & red pepper, new potatoes w/ parsley, rolls & butter, coffee or tea. Please bring your adult beverage, if desired. Set-ups will be provided. Jackets are suggested. Seating limitations dictate no more than 70 property owners, so get your reservations in early.
• Pot Luck Dinner - The Pot Luck Group dinner will be held on Sunday, February 19th, at 6:00 PM at the Lake House. Don & Phyllis Gillette and Bud & Billie Lawing will be the hosts. Since most February evenings are chilly, the hosts will be serving chili to warm us up. (Sorry, I couldn’t resist.) Soft drinks and tea will be provided. BYOB if you would like an “adult beverage” before or during dinner. Please RSVP NLT Monday, February13thto Phyllis (883-4653) or Billie (883-8451) to make your reservation and coordinate your proposed dish of hors d’oeuvre, bread/crackers/cornbread, salads, or desserts.
• Women’s Book Club - Rae Glover will lead the discussion of “Angle of Repose” by Wallace Stegner when the Women’s Book Club meets at the Lake House at 1:00 PM on Monday, February 20th.
• Market Street Update - As of January 21st, Poppie’s still hopes to open by early April, but we all know about construction dates. Check out the Poppie’s website at www.poppiesmarket.com to get a brief overview of the various departments and to sign up for their email newsletter for updates & to give input on what you’d like to see in the store. Sounds wonderful already!
• Website Update - Our official website has been newly formatted. The logos at the top of the home page are now active, & contain updated info for 2006.
